*AKA The Fraternal Twin of Not Enough*
Have you ever been told:
“You’re too ______” ?
Oh, my friend, I can wholeheartedly relate.
Time and again that message echoed:
"You're too much."
It doesn't matter where those words come from…
A family member
A teacher
A colleague
A friend
Even a stranger
The feeling it evokes is downright disheartening.
I still vividly recall a moment from my childhood.
I was singing my heart out to a song that made me feel alive and ecstatic...
(It may or may not have been a Tina Turner song…)
But, it didn't sit well with my best friend at the time.
I was deemed, "too much."
(And yes I can sing in tune – in case you're wondering haha!)
Anyway, I was just seven-years-old and in that instant I felt a piece of my heart break.
At that young, innocent age, I believed her.
I thought something must be wrong with me for her to notice and comment.
Little did I know I was unintentionally triggering her insecurities, leading her to seek control over me, so I wouldn’t make her look bad 🫢
Looking back, I recognize how I then began to shrink my energy.
A sneaky, subtle shift, noticeable only to me, yet immensely impactful.
Shrinking physically pained me.
(If you're familiar with HD, you can imagine how hard it is for a Manifestor to curb BIG, impactful energy lol)
That moment marked the start of a long journey of contracting my essence in an attempt to make others feel more comfortable around me.
It manifested in school, relationships, and in business.
Spanning decades and punctuated by the recurring refrain of "too much."
...“You're too smart”
…“You're too spiritual”
…“You're too intense”
…“You're too bossy”
…“You're too nice”
…“You're too pretty”
…“You're too tom-boyish”
…“You're too weird”
…“You're too talented”
…“You're too loud”
…“You're too shy”
…“You're too opinionated”
…“You're too humble”
…“You're too ambitious”
…“You're too young”
…“You're too old”
…“You're too competitive”
And, my personal favorite:
"You're too happy… you’re so annoying!"
Ahh… ok
(and that ain’t even half of what I’ve heard I’m too much about!)
Of course, I don’t let this affect me now.
But, look at that long list again.
Look how many things are contradictory.
Total and utter bs.
At the same time, I also understand how persistent conditioning can affect us.
When these critiques seem to come from all directions, all the time, for a long time, it's easy to believe the narrative.
But here's the truth:

That’s because you weren’t created to shrink your light.
Let alone hide it under a bushel ;)
It goes against your divine essence.
Your purpose isn't to blend in; you're here to stand out and be you.
If you're shrinking yourself to fit into others' comfort zones…
Or muting your voice and opinion because you are worried about how you’re going to be seen…
Or you’re fearful of being cancelled, just for expressing a different point of view…
You're embracing their game of smallness.
You’ve bought into being too much.
So that means…
It's time to break free.
Recognize that you've outgrown those who can't appreciate who you are.
Release them with blessings, allowing them to gravitate toward their kind who seek safety in playing small and controlling others.
You on the other hand, are destined for something greater.
So, surround yourself with those who understand that your brilliance only magnifies theirs.
Remember you're not designed to fit within anyone's box of limitations or projections.
Don’t let the media trick you into being a victim.
Don’t let movements masquerading as empowerment deceive you.
And, definitely don’t buy into the social media lies.
You're a unique and powerful soul in a human vessel designed for greatness.
One of a kind.
So, don’t get caught up in the weeds.
If your authenticity unsettles others…
If your way of being in the world challenges folks...
If your light triggers some people...
It’s time for a new adventure.
Go on, unleash the inner rebel.
I dare you to take up your full and rightful place in life and take delight in being fully expressed.
Then seek your fearless tribe – those who will celebrate your uniqueness and encourage you to go all in on life.
Surround yourself with those who support you to be the biggest version of yourself.
Align yourself with allies who will challenge you to keep

Because there's a reason you're so-called “too much”.
You’re designed to be a big energy, a big presence, a big light, on purpose.
As my husband says, “There are no mistakes, only misinterpretations.”
You’re too muchness is so damn breathtaking.
I am giving you full permission to go and take up as much space as possible.
So go on, radiate your brilliance and light up the world!
And, if you ever need some help on stepping into your true power and being unapologetic about being the biggest, brightest version of you, I'm here.
